Textile DPP
The Digital Product Passport variant being defined for apparel, footwear and other textile products under ESPR — expected to be the first mainstream consumer DPP mandate.
Textiles is the priority sector under the ESPR work plan, with rules expected from 2027. Required data is likely to cover fibre composition, country of manufacture, dye chemistry, repair guidance, recycled content and care instructions.
Brands selling apparel into the EU should plan for per-unit (not per-SKU) identifiers, since circular use cases such as resale and recycling need to follow individual garments.
