Battery Passport
The product-specific Digital Product Passport mandated for EV and industrial batteries above 2 kWh sold in the EU from February 2027.
The Battery Passport is the first sector-specific DPP to be locked in by EU law, ahead of the broader ESPR rollout. It covers EV batteries, industrial batteries above 2 kWh and light means of transport batteries.
Required data includes carbon footprint, recycled content, state of health, supply-chain due diligence and end-of-life information — accessible by scanning a QR code on the battery.
